Methodology
EIA Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report series NW2_EPG0_SWO_R48_BCF (Lower 48 working gas in underground storage, Bcf), via the EIA API v2. Storage follows a strong seasonal cycle (injection April-October, withdrawal November-March), but the guard's 40% single-step threshold is not tripped in practice.
